Closed loop dry cooling systems form a reliable, low maintenance cooling solution for applications that do not need to be cooled below ambient temperature.
Hot fluid is directed to the dry cooler, where ambient air is drawn through by fans. Coolant does not come into direct contact with cooling air, and does not suffer from evaporative losses. Typical systems can be charged with an appropriate concentration of glycol for freeze protection, and require little (if any) further treatment, so long as the system remains closed without leakage.
These systems may also be used alone or as a pre-cooler or inexpensive winter option for chilled water systems, to give any system free cooling ability.
